Aht's Access - Which Way to Go Music Video Shoot
Hey everyone, welcome to the first ever "Aht's Access"!!! Last Wednesday, Dec.12th I was able to cover a video shoot in my hometown. First and foremost I want to thanks Respek and the homies all the way from 518, J.O., Alion and Euro for letting me tag along. From what I witnessed, this going to be a good one and the song is a banger! Its called " Which Way to Go " produced by Flawless Beats. The man behind the cam, we call him Euro of EuroVizions. It’s rare to find a young songwriter who can successfully transition from behind-the-scenes player to major label headliner, but with the release of R&B newcomer Deon’s impressive 2011 mixtape, For the Love, the 19-year-old rapper-turned-singer-songwriter proved he has the goods to command the spotlight. For the Love is a seductive collection of midtempo R&B/hip-hop jams, including the popular underground favorite, “Just Another Love Song.” Earlier this year Amanda Berkowitz, director of A&R for music industry veteran Sylvia Rhone’s new joint venture label with Epic Records, played For the Love for Rhone, who was blown away by what she heard. “Sylvia brought me in for a meeting at a time when I was on the verge of signing with another label,” Deon reveals. “But she told me, ‘Hold off on the other deal for just a second.’ Three days later, I did a showcase for her and [Epic chairman] L.A. Reid at the Sony offices in New York, and she offered me a deal on the spot.” Deon is now in the studio working on his full-length debut album, which will contain a handful of songs from his mixtape including “Just Another Love Song,” “On Top of the World” and “Dream Girl,” plus new bangers such as “313” and “Party Life.” “I want it to be pandemonium and chaos when my album drops,” says Deon. “I put all my emotions into it and now I’m ready for this dude from Harlem to affect the world.”

NEW ARTIST: Kat Dhalia - Gangsta
Miami-based singer-songwriter Kat Dahlia evokes a lot of other stars in her debut single, ‘Gangsta,’ but molds them all into something her own.
Kat’s sound will likely draw the quickest comparisons to Nelly Furtado and Rihanna, though early Lady Gaga (such as the similarly titled ‘Paper Gangsta’) also come to mind upon listening to the track. The song opens with piano before Kat jumps in spitting, “You say you’re a gangsta? That don’t impress me none.”
Despite her influences, Kat insists her sound is all her. “There’s no other way to stand out than just being yourself,” she says. “I write my own music. People say my voice is very unique and I do this rappy thing that’s kind of different, but if you really want to break it down, I’m just being myself.”
She gets personal in lyrics about her own life and that of her family. One particular lyric hits home for the singer: “No, I ain’t stuntin’ like my daddy / He’s living with my grammy / Used to be a big baller / He’s surviving off of gambling / But I love him, he’s my daddy / Yeah, I love him, he’s my daddy / Put him in a big house before I ever see a Grammy.” Kat’s upbringing was one from rags to riches back to rags, and she’s hoping to go back to riches through self-expression. If ‘Gangsta’ is any indicator, she’s well on her way to buying that big house for her daddy.

Without label support G-Eazy has trekked across the US on multiple tours breaking hearts with his James Dean meets hip-hop vibe and unforgettable live shows. It’s not hype. It’s not a hit. It’s not an image. It’s all of the above. G reinterprets what he loves, not what everyone wants to hear, but in 2012 its looking like those two paths are starting to merge. Gʼs been a fixture on the local New Orleans rap scene for a few years and more recently in the music blogosphere, but in the last few months his popularity has surged and as his national profile has grown exponentially. Random Thoughts by AHT
Cant sleep so ima babble on here.
I see alot of changes in the music scene in my city. Love it. People are finally working with each other instead of hating on the movement, grind, whatever it may be. Haven't had a chance to step foot in it YET, but i will. Some people might know i had a rough ass 10 months this year and im finally getting it together. Ive quit many times, been turned down by labels but im still here trying to be heard. Its rough but you gotta stick it out. Ill be recording a couple new tracks but my main focus are my two artists that im managing. BORN TO SHYNE ENT. is back and ready to roll. Theres been successful years and some was just bleh. Working hard to get where we used to be and even harder to past that. As local artists of course we want support from the home town but it hardly happens. Thats why through out all the years ive worked on music, i never really focused on local, i took it to the internet. And i kid you not i was getting more love nation wide than where i lay my head at. Over 3.5k in fans. 175k in plays all in like a 4 months span. Those numbers arent too exciting but to my team and i, IT WAS. Day & night i would promote. Top the CT charts almost every week. Made it into the top 100 nation wide for a few weeks also. Highest placement was 67 i believe, around there. This was all MYSPACE. My goal is to pass that. Hopefully i will in the next year coming. Gotta remain focused. All im saying is if some of thesr dudes from my city get their music out there to the world, theyll also love the feeling of finally being heard.
